Based out of Austin, Texas, Christopher Locke attended an auction held by the administration and purchased a box of 300 scissors. He then hit the jackpot when he found a state surplus store that sells used office equipment, in addition to confiscated materials from the security administration.
In the past year, the Transportation Security Administration has confiscated over 8 million items, including guns, knives, narcotics, cuticle scissors, mousse, pudding, and bottled water. I have obtained some of the TSA-confiscated scissors, and they inspired me.
Scissor spiders have been featured in several publications, including Playboy magazine, and some of them can be found in Ripley’s Believe It or Not museums around the world. They are not available for sale at this time, but may be sold in small quantities on special occasions.
